Quebec’s Farms Need Caterpillar Equipment
For a service and manufacturing-oriented economy, Quebec, Canada has a surprisingly strong farming industry. Quebec’s farms are productive – since only 2 percent of the land in the province is farmed, Quebec’s farmers need to ensure that their daily actions maintain and improve the productivity of their farmland.
The current statistics show there are 42,000 farmers in the province. In addition to producing almost three-quarters of the maple syrup in the world, Quebec’s farms produce an abundance of cranberries, dairy products, fruit, vegetables, foie gras, fish, and livestock. Farmers in Quebec need large equipment in order to complete their farm tasks: from loaders to move feed, soil, and sand to tractors and backhoes to complete planting, harvest, and farm projects, farmers rely on heavy tools such as Caterpillar equipment.
