You need to have been employed for at least three months or receive an eligible source of income, which must be deposited via direct deposit into a Canadian bank account. You must not be involved in bankruptcy proceedings and must meet the minimum gross monthly income requirement of $1,500 in Quebec or $2,500 in Ontario. Eligible income sources include salaried and self-employed income, various pensions, and government assistance programs such as the Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Employment Insurance (EI), and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) benefits.
